The Media Asset form enables you to add media files to N4. You can use the Media Asset form to import new media files and export existing media files. After you add a media file, such as an image or a company logo to N4, you can use the image file in report designs (on page 1).

To add a media asset to N4:

  1. In the Id field, enter an ID that uniquely identifies the media file.

  1. In the Short Description field, enter a short description of the media file.

  2. To import the media file into N4, click Import File.

  3. Use the file dialog box to browse the folders and select the media file.

You can only select one of the following types of media files: Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG/JPG), Portable Network Graphics (PNG), or Graphics Interchange Format (GIF).

  1. Click Open.

This also closes the Import XML Configuration dialog box.

In the Media Asset form, the Media File field displays --loaded-- to indicate that a media file is associated with the selected media asset.

  1. Click Save.

After you save an image file in N4, you can use the ID of the image file, as defined in step 1 above, as a parameter in iReport and add the associated image file to various report designs. For more information on defining the parameter, see Media Asset parameter in iReport (on page 1).

To remove a loaded file, click Clear.
